The Calvary Road by Roy Hession is a deeply convicting book about personal and corporate revival. Its central message is that true revival comes only when Christians walk the way of the cross—marked by humility, brokenness, transparency, and full surrender to Jesus Christ. Hession teaches that our self-centeredness and pride are the greatest barriers to experiencing the life and power of Christ daily. Therefore, the Christian must live in a constant attitude of repentance, confession, and openness to God and others.

The book emphasizes:

Brokenness: A full yielding of the will to God.

Walking in the Light: Living openly before God and men, not hiding sin.

Continual Cleansing: Trusting daily in the blood of Christ for cleansing and restoration.

Revival as a Community Experience: True revival flows from believers living humbly and honestly with one another, producing deep love, unity, and joy.

Hession shows that revival is not an emotional event but a daily reality for those who allow Christ to live His life through them, by dying to self.
